Started collecting!

I just decided today that I'll start collecting comics :) I bought The Avengers Volume 3, editions 3, 7, 8, 12, 13, 14, 15, 19,20, 21, 22.

Anybody have any hints on how to preserve comics and where to start collecting? :)
